Surrey Muse Writers brings us together to appreciate each other’s work, and to suggest ways to make it clearer and stronger. We do so by being the proverbial ‘keen readers’, show our respect to the work by sharing the impact it creates on us, point to its strengths by citing examples from it, and offer solutions to improve any weak aspects. We are the Writers and the Readers, Presenters and Critiquers, and we hope to enjoy all our roles.
The Presenter is welcome to ask for particular feedback if needed; the Critiquer can request elaboration if ambivalent. We try to be clear and concise in our communication, wait our turn to present or to critique, and to not take more time than needed.
Surrey Muse Writers is an inclusive group that acknowledges meeting on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations, and we strive for equality and fairness in our social environments.
Surrey Muse Writers Drop-in will resume in Spring 2017.
